Georgia's Story
CPR is no stranger to animal cruelty and neglect. At the beginning of March, we took in a very neglected Siberian Husky female that had been previously used as a breeding dog. She had lived her life on a chain, produced puppies sold at flea markets, and was eventually attacked by a Pit Bull before being dumped in a trailer park. Someone who knew her turned her over to CPR, knowing that our founder has a soft spot for Huskies and abuse cases. Lisa picked up the poor dog, fur and teeth missing, emaciated, and heartworm positive, and fell in love instantly. Georgia is learning to love her new life, full of hugs from all who come to visit and walks in the park. However, she has a long road ahead. Donations are needed to help with her care as well as special diet to get her healthy again. No donation is too small, and all are greatly appreciated. Thank you to Dr. Pam Fandrich of Crossroad Animal Hospital for her exceptional care as Georgia's vet, and to Madeleine DeLong, Becky Soprych and Lisa Bennett for their generous support.
Alert: The Inn is Full, The Bank is Empty
We know the economy has been ruff all around, but Coastal Pet Rescue is really feeling the pinch. Our outstanding veterinary bills are over $4,500 right now. Ouch! We haven't received a federal bailout, so we are appealing to you, our friends and supporters, to lend a paw. Without your support, we are unable to accept any of the pets currently on our mile-long wait list or those looking for reprieves at animal controls. Please, think about giving up that cup of Starbuck's to make it possible for us to keep our programs open to other homeless pets. Click the PayPal Donate button at the top of this page to send a donation now or mail checks to: Coastal Pet Rescue, PO Box 30462, Savannah, GA 31410.

Perhaps it's the unconditional love that has forever bonded us humans with our four-legged friends. Or maybe it's the companionship we feel when a furry feline or friendly dog is curled up in our laps. But whatever the reason for this lasting friendship, we can't help deny that animals just make life better. So isn't it time we return the favor? You can help Coastal Pet Rescue in their continued efforts to save the lives of cats and dogs.
Since being founded in February 2003, the non-profit organization Coastal Pet Rescue has helped save the lives of over 600 pets. Based in Savannah, Georgia, the organization has rescued cats and dogs that were homeless, abused and otherwise neglected. After providing veterinary care and sterilization to the animals in county animal shelters, the volunteer staff tries to match these animals with loving homes.
CPR also assists these shelters and other animal rescues when they need to relocate pets. They also provide foster care when people want to give up their pets. Another important program CPR has implemented since it first began is the feral cat trap-neuter-return. Providing humane education to the public about taking care of animals and how to control the pet population is also a priority. They even provide low-cost microchipping, so you won't have to worry about losing your pet.
Since six to eight million cats and dogs enter an animal shelter each year, Coastal Pet Rescue sure has their work cut out for them. If you care about these animals as much as they do, why not consider adopting, volunteering or making a simple donation online?
