Local Pet Rescuer Finalist for International Award
Savannah, GA April 25, 2007
Her life may have gone to the dogs (and a few cats), but a local rescuer’s commitment to homeless pets has gained some national appreciation.
Coastal Pet Rescue founder and president Lisa Scarbrough has been selected by the eWomenNetwork Foundation Advisory Council as an International Femtor Award Emerging Leader of the Year finalist.
“Lisa’s young role in our community is crucial and can’t be emphasized enough for the future success of animal welfare,” says April Hanson, a Coastal Pet Rescue volunteer who submitted a recommendation letter about Lisa for this award.
The award recognizes leaders of tomorrow and the promise of a vibrant and heart-centered future. eWomenNetwork recognizes finalists in this category as the best and the brightest in the 20-29 year age range who have demonstrated significant accomplishments in the areas of education, business and service to their communities.
“Lisa’s reputation for being progressive, dependable, responsible, giving and always successful in her every endeavor makes her an invaluable asset to our community,” says Shirley Sessions, Director of United Way’s Hands on Savannah.
“Ms. Scarbrough does not hesitate to involve herself in the education of the citizens of this community by giving numerous interviews with media outlets, and the general public, which greatly assist me in my efforts,” says Lieutenant Brenda Boulware of Savannah Chatham Metropolitian Police Animal Control. “She is genuinely passionate about making a difference in this community.”
eWomenNetwork will be sending Lisa to Dallas, Texas for the winner’s presentation to be held live June 7, 2007, the opening night of the eWomenNetwork International Conference and Business Expo.
