Many volunteer opportunities are available. Our open positions are listed below. All volunteers must go through a brief training session before participation.

Foster Parents

We neeed more foster parents! Without you, we cannot bring in more animals to our rescue. Fill out our online application here to begin the process. You can specify what you want to foster. Coastal Pet Rescue pays for veterinary expenses; you simply provide food, home and a loving environment.

Event Volunteers

Volunteers are needed for our outdoor events. Some of the duties will include manning our booth, selling items, taking adoption applications, assisting vet techs with microchipping, cleaning up afterwards and setting up before.

Transport Volunteers

Rescue transport volunteers will transport dogs and/or cats to specific locations in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. These transports most often are coordinated through other rescues as a way to get animals out of kill shelters and/or puppy mills to another rescue for adoption and/or medical treatment. Rescue transport volunteers need to have a working vehicle, their own insurance, and be willing to transport animals when needed within a reasonable time period.

Vet Runners

Takes Coastal Pet Rescue pets to scheduled veterinary visits.

Event Volunteers

• Assists events coordinator in pre-planning efforts such as distribution of flyers or other advertisements, recruitment of event participants, or collection of needed materials.
• Assists with the following during the event: paperwork, record keeping, directions, instructions to public or participants, cleanup or setup of event location, sell items, distribute brochures, help with booths.

In-home Interviewers

Follow through on adoption application interviews by interviewing the family in their home to verify application information as well as explain Coastal Pet Rescue adoption policies and procedures. Interviewers fill out the provided home visit form and return it to the adoption coordinator for review and approval or denial.

Foster Coordinator

Coastal Pet Rescue seeks a dynamic individual for the position of Foster Coordinator. The position will require 6 to 10 hours a week as necessary. The foster coordinator is responsible for:

* Evaluating Foster Parent Applications
* Conducting pre-foster in-home interviews
* Scheduling veterinary appointments for foster pets
* Conducting follow up visits
* Arranging for initial pet drop off with foster parents
* Assisting in relocating pets as needed
* Fielding foster parent phone calls and emails and addressing issues
* Arranging for monthly flea and heartworm meds to foster homes as needed
* Maintaining state-required paperwork and tracking
* Tracking supplies inventory and usage

The foster coordinator must be a dynamic person who has exceptional people and diplomatic skills. You should be well organized and good with time management. As you may spend a great amount of time on your cell phone, Coastal Pet Rescue will provide a cell phone to you to be used exclusively for CPR business. Good email etiquette and confidence in using the Internet is required.

eCycle Program Coordinator

Coastal Pet Rescue seeks an individual to coordinate its eCycle ink cartridge recycling program. Individual will arrange for drop-offs/pick-ups from participating businesses and individuals, check cartridges for program specifications, and handle shipping responsibilities. Individual is responsible for tracking the intake and reporting them to the board. May require 2 to 8 hours per week as needed.

Event Photographer

The position will require 6 to 10 hours a month as necessary. The Event Photographer will:

Attend each CPR event
Upload photos to photo gallery on CPR and other websites
Provide disc of unedited images to CPR board
Prodive disc and event recap to Purina
Must be experienced with candid shots and working with animals

Photographer should use a digital camera with minimum 4.1 megapixels so that images may be reproduced for promotional materials. Individual should be experienced with cropping photos as well as composition when taking photos and should be familiar with uploading requirements for web display.

Volunteer Coordinator

Coastal Pet Rescue seeks a dynamic individual for the position of Foster Coordinator. The position will require 6 to 10 hours a week as necessary. The volunteer coordinator is responsible for:

Maintaing liability waivers for each volunteer
Conducting volunteer orientations
Scheduling volunteer staff for events
Announcing opportunities to volunteers
Maintaining listings on VolunteerMatch.org and Hands On Savannah
Maintaining and updating volunteer contact information
Providing recommendations to the board for volunteer recognitions
Handling volunteer disputes
Attending each event
Monitoring volunteer message board
